Azerbaijan national team plays to a draw with Lithuania in the Nations League

The Azerbaijani national soccer team played its first match of the new UEFA Nations League season.

Ayxan Abbasov's team played to a 1:1 draw away against the Lithuanian national team. The match was held at the Darius and Girėnas Stadium in Kaunas.

The hosts opened the scoring in the 9th minute after an accurate penalty kick by Armandas Kučys.

Already in the 14th minute, Mahir Emreli restored the balance.

For the Azerbaijani national team, this was the first match in the group. Lithuania had earlier begun the tournament with an away victory over Liechtenstein by a score of 2:0.
