Iran's parliament speaker accuses the U.S. of imposing an air blockade
The United States has imposed an air blockade on Iran, said the speaker of the Islamic Republic of Iran's parliament, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
"The leadership of the White House should know that the courageous Iranian nation will never retreat in the face of an air and trade blockade," he emphasized on his Telegram channel.
Ghalibaf noted that Tehran's response would be swift and harsh. He also explained that until the Islamic Republic of Iran has the opportunity to sell oil, no country in the region will be able to do so.
The parliament speaker warned that because of the threats to the republic from Washington, the situation also remains unsafe for Middle Eastern infrastructure.
Earlier, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that as of September 23, Iranian airlines will no longer be able to operate flights and will not be provided with ground services because of sanctions. After that, some countries stopped accepting flights from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
