Ships from Israel, countries hostile to Iran and vessels carrying military cargo will not be able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz if a new bill on the security of this strategic route is adopted.

This was reported by Hassan Ghashghavi, a representative of the National Security Committee of Iran's parliament.

"Ships belonging to the Zionist regime and hostile states, as well as those carrying out military actions against us or transporting military cargo, will not be able to pass through the Strait of Hormuz," Ghashghavi said.

According to him, ships of other non-hostile states will have to obtain special permits for passage from the General Staff of Iran's Armed Forces in accordance with the rules set out in the new law.

Ghashghavi noted that the bill has already been reviewed by the relevant committee and is awaiting submission to an open plenary session of parliament, after which the document will be sent for approval to the Guardian Council.
