Another Group of Former IDPs Returns to Lachin – PHOTO
In accordance with the instruction of President Ilham Aliyev, another group of former internally displaced persons is returning to the city of Lachin.
As reported by Trend, the families returning to Lachin had previously been temporarily residing in various regions of the country — mainly in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings. At this stage, 20 families — 86 people — are returning.
The residents returning to their native lands expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive state care provided to them. They also conveyed their appreciation to the valiant Azerbaijani Army, heroic soldiers, and officers who liberated our lands from occupation.
It should be noted that at present more than 50,000 people reside in Karabakh and East Zangazur. Along with former IDPs, this population includes individuals working on the implementation of projects in the region, as well as those performing official duties in local branches of various state institutions, and employees engaged in the restored healthcare, education, culture, tourism, industry, and energy sectors.
