Sweden Temporarily Relocates Embassy Operations from Tehran to Baku
Sweden has evacuated its diplomats from Iran, with the diplomatic mission now continuing its operations in Baku.
As reported by 1news.az, Sweden's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maria Malmer Stenergard, announced this on her page on social media platform X.
"Due to the deteriorating security situation in Iran, the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to temporarily relocate Swedish embassy staff from Tehran. The embassy continues to operate from Baku. The security situation in Tehran remains highly uncertain. The Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has advised against all travel to Iran since 2022 and urges Swedish citizens to leave the country," the head of the ministry stated.
