Roman Popov: Humanitarian aid to Iran delivered thanks to coordinated efforts of Azerbaijani services

In the Russian Embassy in Baku, the high level of interdepartmental cooperation with Azerbaijani authorities was emphasized, which enabled the prompt delivery of humanitarian aid from Russia to Iran through Azerbaijani territory.

As reported by Report, this was stated to Azerbaijani journalists by Roman Popov, the head of the consular department of the Russian Embassy in Azerbaijan.

Popov expressed gratitude to the Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the State Customs Service, the State Border Committee, and the Transport Agency Service.

"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan for their assistance. Today, the second and third batches of humanitarian cargo were delivered: 300 tons of medicines transported through the territory of the Russian Federation by rail, as well as 150 tons of food products provided by the government of the Republic of Dagestan of the Russian Federation. The first batch was delivered on March 12, after which the Ministry of Emergency Situations delivered about 29 tons of medicines. In this regard, I would like to note the high level of interdepartmental interaction. Once again, I express my appreciation to the Azerbaijani authorities and all the executors for ensuring that all actions were carried out promptly and the cargo crossed the border without obstacles. The work of the services is organized clearly and cohesively," he said.
