Attack on Pashinyan in church, two citizens detained

Two citizens were detained following an incident involving Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the Saint Anna Church in Yerevan. This was reported by lawyer Ruben Melikyan.

"Just now, two citizens were detained in the courtyard of Saint Anna Church and taken to an unknown location. This is likely related to an incident that occurred in the church one or two hours ago. I <...> am ready to provide legal assistance to these citizens," he wrote on Facebook (banned in Russia, owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist in Russia).

Earlier, a video circulated on social media showing an incident involving Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

After the liturgy at Saint Anna Church, as he was heading to the exit accompanied by security, one of the parishioners attempted to strike him.

The man, shouting "Don't look at me like that!" swung at him but missed and nearly hit the Speaker of Parliament, Alen Simonyan.
