New suspect in Tale Heydarov case: Abid Mamedov declared wanted
Another well-known businessman has been brought to criminal responsibility in a case where Tale Heydarov, the son of the Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov, is recognized as the victim.
According to information obtained by Qafqazinfo, a measure of restraint in the form of arrest in absentia has been chosen against Abid Mamedov, the former chairman of the Supervisory Board of Azfinance Investment Company CJSC.
A. Mamedov is accused of large-scale fraud together with the director of Azfinance, Intigam Safaraliyev, who is currently in custody. However, since Mamedov is outside the country, it has not been possible to detain him.
According to the accusation, there were buy-sell relations between Intigam Safaraliyev, Abid Mamedov, and Tale Heydarov: they sold Heydarov a factory worth millions of manats. However, Heydarov later renounced the contract, claiming he had been deceived, and filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office. During the investigation, Tale Heydarov estimated the damage caused to him at 11 million 903 thousand manats. The final amount of damage in the case materials was established at the same figure.
At the moment, the preliminary investigation into Intigam Safaraliyev's case has been completed, while Abid Mamedov's case has been separated into a distinct proceeding, and he has been declared wanted.
The accused categorically deny their guilt. The defense side believes there is no basis for a crime. According to their version, an official deal was formalized between Tale Heydarov, Intigam Safaraliyev, and Abid Mamedov, and the parties received joint income. However, Heydarov later wanted to terminate the contract, a dispute arose, and he demanded the return of not only the funds invested in the factory but also the profit earned.
The true details of the case will become known during the trial, where the parties will present their arguments and evidence.
It should be noted that Abid Mamedov previously held the position of director of Azfinance Investment Company CJSC, after which Intigam Safaraliyev was appointed to this role. Mamedov received his education at the University of Bristol (United Kingdom). He previously worked as an advisor to the chairman of the Supervisory Board of AFB Bank OJSC and was a member of the Board of Directors of Azsığorta OJSC. He also owns an 85% share in the authorized capital of Azfinance Investment Company CJSC.
