Iran has officially informed Pakistani authorities that it will not participate in peace talks with the United States in Pakistan until a ceasefire is secured in Lebanon, according to Turkish media reports.

Ahead of the talks scheduled for Saturday, Iran refuted claims by some Western media outlets that its negotiating delegation had already arrived in Islamabad, stating that it will not engage in peace talks with the US until a ceasefire is achieved in Lebanon.

"The Iranian delegation has not yet arrived in Pakistan, and negotiations will not begin until Israel's attacks on Lebanon stop," Turkish publications quoted an Iranian diplomatic source as saying.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported that 1,888 people have been killed as a result of Israeli attacks since March 2.

Earlier, The Wall Street Journal claimed that an Iranian delegation had arrived in Islamabad to start negotiations with Washington.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ismail Baghaei, stated that talks aimed at ending the war between the US/Israel and Iran depend on the US fulfilling its commitments to a ceasefire on all fronts, primarily in Lebanon.
