Iran proposes to ban Israeli ships from passing through the Strait of Hormuz

A bill is under consideration in the Iranian parliament that would impose an indefinite ban on ships associated with Israel passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

This was announced by Ibrahim Azizi, the head of the parliamentary committee on national security and foreign policy, as reported by Iranian media.

According to him, the initiative proposes to ban the movement of all ships whose point of departure or destination is Israel.

The draft also mentions a ban on the passage of ships from countries deemed hostile or cooperating with states acting against Iran's security.

Azizi added that the document includes provisions for charging a fee for passage through the strait, with the payment proposed to be made in Iran's national currency.
