Turkey sent letter about desire to join eurozone
Ankara sent a letter to the European Payments Council (EPC) stating its desire to join the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA).
This is stated in a joint statement following the high-level economic dialogue between the EU and Turkey.
It noted that both sides reached agreement on developing mutually beneficial economic relations, maintaining economic confidence, and strengthening the business environment, emphasizing that Ankara's potential participation in SEPA "will allow for faster, safer, and more cost-effective cross-border payments, promoting trade and investment between Turkey and the EU."
