Foreign minister: Participants in armed conflicts abroad face criminal liability
Participation in armed conflicts on the territory of third countries is a violation of the law.
As 1news.az reports, this was stated by Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov at a press conference.
According to the minister, some foreign forces are trying to involve people in armed conflicts, using various promises and material rewards.
“Unfortunately, during armed conflicts occurring in different countries, we encounter cases of involving Azerbaijani citizens in these conflicts from various sides. People are being attracted to participate in armed confrontations in various ways, including through promises and monetary payments.
I would like to remind once again that the participation of Azerbaijani citizens in armed conflicts on the territory of third states is considered a violation of the law. Such persons not only put their lives in serious danger, but also bear criminal responsibility. In some cases, such actions may lead to the loss of Azerbaijani citizenship.
Therefore, I urge our citizens not to succumb to such calls and offers,” Bayramov stated.
