Prime minister of Ukraine submits resignation

A statement on the resignation of Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko has been received by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, reported Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk. The statement will be considered in the near future.

"I am grateful to Yulia Anatolyevna for her work at the head of the Government during an extremely difficult period for the state, for her contribution to strengthening the economy, supporting people and promoting our country on the path to the European Union," Stefanchuk added.

Zelensky announced Svyrydenko's resignation the day before. He spoke about reshuffles in the government and law enforcement agencies.

Svyrydenko will leave the post of prime minister and will coordinate relations between Ukraine and one of the key foreign partners. Zelensky did not write who could replace her in the post. The President of Ukraine justified his decision by the need for personnel changes in the context of a change in political strategy.
