Brother of Spanish prime minister convicted
The court sentenced David Sanchez, brother of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, to nine years of deprivation of the right to hold public office in the case of hiring for work in the provincial council of Badajoz.
This was reported to TASS by the High Court of Extremadura.
The hearings in the case took place from May 28 to June 9, with testimony given by, among others, more than 40 witnesses and 11 suspects. According to the court, the brother of the head of the cabinet was sentenced for a crime related to abuse of office to "punishment of deprivation of the right to hold public positions" for "nine years." The current court decision can be appealed.
