Turkey will lead maritime guarantees for Ukraine
Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that in the context of the discussed issue of future security guarantees for Ukraine, Ankara agreed to lead the naval component of this work.
"Earlier, the question was raised about how Turkey could potentially contribute [to ensuring a peaceful solution]. Currently, one of the most important aspects of a potential peace agreement is being discussed - security guarantees for Ukraine. These guarantees include land, sea, and air elements. Turkey agreed to lead the naval component. On this issue, we have mutual understanding with our allies. Planned work is also being carried out on this issue with the relevant allied naval forces," he said in Kyiv at a press conference with his Ukrainian colleague Andriy Sybiha.
The broadcast was conducted by the Turkish Foreign Ministry on social networks.
