Almost 90 illegal migrants detained off the coast of Turkey in the Aegean Sea
Off the coast of Turkey's Izmir province in the west of the country, 89 illegal migrants were detained, and two more turned out to be organizers of illegal migration.
As 1news.az reports, this is stated in a statement by the Turkish Coast Guard Command.
According to the information, in the Seferihisar area, coast guard officers together with the gendarmerie detained 61 illegal migrants, among whom was a child. As part of the same operation, two people were detained on suspicion of organizing the illegal transportation of migrants.
In the Menderes area, a boat was detained, on board of which there were another 28 illegal migrants.
After carrying out the necessary procedures, all detainees were transferred to the provincial migration department.
