20 children die in school bus crash in Uganda

In Uganda, a bus with schoolchildren returning from an excursion went off the road.

Twenty children and one adult died in the accident. Three more adults and several children were injured.

This was reported by the press service of the country's police.
The bus with students from the capital's King David Primary School was returning from an excursion to Sipi Falls in the Kapchorwa district.

According to preliminary data, around 20:00 Moscow time near the village of Chekwati, the bus driver lost control and went off the road. The vehicle hit a large rock and overturned.
The police published a photo of the heavily damaged and overturned bus. The injured were taken to the general hospital in Kapchorwa and the regional hospital in Mbale, the publication notes.

The police continue to investigate the causes of the accident. The identity of the driver has not yet been established.
