Fifa rules out moving 2026 World Cup final amid wildfires — Bloomberg

Fifa has confirmed that it does not intend to postpone the final match of the 2026 World Cup, despite smoke in the New York and New Jersey area due to wildfires in Canada, Bloomberg reports.

Earlier, there were reports of a possible postponement of the final, in which the teams of Spain and Argentina were to meet, but this does not correspond to the current position of the federation.

In Fifa, they emphasize that if there is a threat to the health of tournament participants, approved protocols are in effect — they allow an operational assessment of the situation and a decision on adjusting the format of the matches.

According to the source, Fifa’s position remains unchanged: the 2026 World Cup final is not planned to be postponed. The Spain — Argentina match will take place on July 19 at the stadium in New Jersey (USA), with kickoff at 22:00 Moscow time.
