Head of UMC calls to pray for peaceful resolution of conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine
Azerbaijan, which possesses a unique experience of peaceful coexistence among various cultures and civilizations, supports cooperation with the UN Alliance of Civilizations at the highest level.
This was stated by Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahshukur Pashazade, chairman of the Administration of Muslims of the Caucasus, who is on a visit to Angola, while speaking at the "Alliance for Peace" summit organized by the UN Alliance of Civilizations.
Pashazade noted that one of the highest truths reflected in the sacred books revealed to humanity is that the killing of even one person created by the Almighty is as grave a crime as the destruction of all humanity.
According to him, mass killings committed on national, racial, or religious grounds and forever imprinted in the memory of humanity are among the greatest and unforgivable crimes against people.
Drawing the attention of the event participants to the Khojaly genocide, Pashazade stated that the Azerbaijani people had also become victims of mass slaughter, and the world community must know this terrible truth and give it a fair assessment.
"Today, as wars continue in the world, we must, relying on international law, work and pray for the triumph of justice and sustainable peace, rather than fragile ceasefires, as well as for the peaceful resolution of conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine," Pashazade noted.
