Defense ministry of Armenia shows exercises with French Caesar - video
Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan published a video of exercises using the 155-millimeter French self-propelled artillery unit Caesar, which received the name "Aramazd" in Armenia.
In June 2024, it became known that Yerevan and Paris signed a contract for the supply of 36 such units.
"Training of servicemen of the army of the Republic of Armenia on 155-mm self-propelled artillery units 'Aramazd'," Papikyan wrote in the comment to the video.
The government of Armenia is developing active cooperation with France in the defense sphere.
Yerevan began receiving military assistance from Paris in 2023. The first batch of armored vehicles for the Armenian army was delivered to the republic through Georgia. At the end of October 2023, then-French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu reported that Paris intends to sell Armenia three Ground Master 200 (GM200) radar systems, and it is also planned to sign a letter of intent with the manufacturer of missile systems MBDA regarding the Mistral MANPADS.
