CENTCOM: American troops complete 11th wave of strikes on Iran
American armed forces completed the 11th consecutive series of strikes on Iran, the United States Central Command in the Middle East (CENTCOM) reported.
"CENTCOM forces struck Iranian military operational centers, naval facilities, aircraft hangars, drone storage facilities, and military logistics infrastructure to further degrade Iran's ability to threaten commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz," the statement said.
It is noted that over the past three months Iran attacked more than 30 commercial vessels transiting this international waterway. "Unjustified attacks endangered the lives of hundreds of innocent sailors and undermined freedom of navigation," the U.S. military said.
"Despite Iranian aggression, the Strait of Hormuz remains open for the transit of commercial vessels. Since the beginning of May, CENTCOM forces have helped ensure the transit of approximately 900 commercial vessels and 450 million barrels of crude oil," the command emphasized.
