Trump displeased with US energy secretary over deal with Saudi Arabia

US President Donald Trump was angered that Energy Secretary Chris Wright announced an agreement with Saudi Arabia in the field of nuclear energy without prior notification.

According to the channel, Trump's dissatisfaction grew after the deal was criticized by experts and conservative media. Later, the American leader stated that approval of the agreement depends on Riyadh joining the Abraham Accords on normalizing relations with Israel.

CNN sources claim that the White House had previously asked the Energy Department not to announce the agreement, but Wright did so on his own. The US administration stated that Saudi Arabia was aware of Trump's condition.

On July 22, the US Energy Department announced the conclusion of an agreement with Saudi Arabia to support the kingdom's peaceful nuclear program. The document has been submitted to the US Congress and is designed for several decades. Washington stated that the deal is aimed at expanding the participation of American companies in the development of Saudi nuclear energy.
