Number of Ebola deaths in DR Congo rises to 1405 cases

The number of confirmed cases of Ebola fever in DR Congo has risen to 3200. According to government data, among them are 1405 fatal outcomes.

Over the past day, 125 cases of the disease and 51 deaths were confirmed — this is one of the highest daily indicators. A total of 571 people have recovered from the fever.

The outbreak was declared in the country on May 15 and has already been recognized as the fastest-spreading in the history of Ebola observations. The epidemic is caused by the Bundibugyo strain, for which no approved vaccines exist yet.
