Zelensky accuses Iran of attacking Ukraine
Iran is participating in the conflict in Ukraine because it is an ally of Russia.
This was stated by the head of state Vladimir Zelensky in an interview with the Sky News television channel.
“And what do you think, if Iran from the first year of the war provided Russia with a new base, new technologies? <…> Did they attack us? I think yes,” Zelensky said.
He claims that Ukraine must act cautiously and not allow the opening of a new front, however, according to him, it is necessary to take into account the support that Iran and North Korea provide to Russia.
Zelensky believes that “it is necessary to be honest” and recognize that “Iranians and North Koreans have already attacked” Ukraine.
On July 25, the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Ukrainian forces attacked its merchant ship in the Caspian Sea. As a result of the explosion on board, one sailor received injuries incompatible with life, and another crew member was wounded. Tehran called the incident an act of aggression and accused Kyiv of attempting to spread the Russian-Ukrainian conflict beyond the combat zone.
After this, the temporary chargé d'affaires of Ukraine in Tehran was summoned to the Foreign Ministry of the republic, where he was officially expressed a strong protest and informed that Iran would not leave any attack on its citizens unanswered.
