Mayor: Turkey begins reconstruction of Akyaka-Gyumri railway section
Currently, construction work is underway to restore the infrastructure of the Akyaka-Gyumri railway, which will be completed within 2-3 months.

According to him, work is underway to restore the infrastructure, and public tenders have been announced for the construction. The construction work that has begun is preparation for the opening of the Armenian-Turkish border.
A tender has already been announced for the construction of a dirt road from Akyaka to Gyumri.
"The tender for the construction of the road from Akyaka to Gyumri has already been announced, and we expect that work will begin there as well. This is part of our government's policy to develop good-neighborly and friendly relations," Toptas said.
The mayor noted that wide opportunities are also opening up for cooperation in the fields of agriculture and industry between the two countries.
A group of Armenian journalists who visited Turkey as part of a journalist exchange program was given the opportunity to familiarize themselves on site with the progress of work on putting the railway into operation from the Turkish side.
