Zelensky asks Trump for 'winter package' of Patriot missiles

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to American leader Donald Trump with a request to provide an emergency "winter package" of three hundred interceptor missiles for Patriot.

This is reported by the Axios portal.

As Zelensky stated, Trump agreed to continue the procedure for obtaining licenses to produce Patriot missiles in Ukraine. However, the portal notes, this process will take from one to five years.

"This schedule does not work. We needed Patriots yesterday," Zelensky said.

According to him, Ukraine expects to receive 300 interceptors by winter. The Ukrainian leader reported that "Trump promised to try to help, but also made it clear that it would be difficult due to the need for interceptors in the war with Iran."

He emphasized that Ukraine is ready to share any military technologies or experience that the United States may need to obtain Patriot interceptor fighters.

Prior to this, Zelensky stated that Ukraine critically lacks missiles to defend against Russian ballistic missiles.

The president of Ukraine reported that he is focused on negotiations with the United States and other allies to continue the supply of ammunition and increase pressure on Russia. According to him, air defense systems remain a priority, since Russia is using more and more ballistic missiles.
