Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers finish world championship with six medals

Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Elmir Cherkezov won a bronze medal at the U-17 World Championship being held in Baku.

As AZERTAC reports, the athlete, competing in the up to 60-kilogram weight category, defeated his opponent in the bout for third place.

Thus, Azerbaijan's Greco-Roman wrestling team finished the tournament with six awards. Earlier, Isfahan Hasanov (80 kg), Ali Javadli (45 kg) and Abdurrahman Huseynli (51 kg) took silver, while Omar Salmanov (48 kg) and Orkhan Habibli (65 kg) won bronze.

Note that about 700 young wrestlers from more than 60 countries are taking part in the world championship being held at the National Gymnastics Arena. Azerbaijan is represented at the tournament by 29 athletes.
