The government of Armenia will resign

The government of Armenia will submit its resignation before the session of the new parliament, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a cabinet meeting.

"This is our last session in connection with the formation of the National Assembly of the 9th convocation," the Armenian prime minister said.

According to the Constitution, the cabinet submits its resignation, after which the president will appoint as prime minister the candidate presented by the parliamentary majority.

The National Assembly of Armenia begins its work on August 2. It is precisely this body that will form the new government.
