Court rejects Robert Kocharyan's lawsuit
The court rejected the lawsuit filed by Armenia's second president, Robert Kocharyan, against Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
The relevant information was posted on the judicial information portal Datalex.am.
Kocharyan went to court demanding that Pashinyan be obliged to retract slanderous statements, as well as to recover compensation from him for the moral damage caused.
The court refused to grant the claim. According to the court's decision, 200,000 drams (about 550 dollars) was recovered from Kocharyan in favor of Pashinyan as "reasonable compensation" for attorney's services.
The decision may be appealed to the Civil Court of Appeal within one month from the day it was announced.
After this period expires, it will enter into legal force if no appeal is filed.
