Scientists warn of a 750-meter asteroid approaching Earth

On Sunday, August 9, the potentially hazardous asteroid 173561 (2000 YV137) will fly past Earth.

The length of the space object is 756 meters. This was reported by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the United States (NASA).

The distance from the asteroid to Earth will be just over 5 million km.

According to scientists, if an asteroid approaches Earth at a distance of less than 7.5 million km and its size exceeds 150 m, NASA considers it a "potentially hazardous object."

Asteroid 173561 (2000 YV137) meets both criteria.
