A country report on land consolidation will be prepared in Azerbaijan
In line with the results of the pilot projects on land consolidation, a country report will be prepared and the mechanism will begin to be applied throughout the country.
Firudin Tagiyev, head of the Department for Control over Land Use at the Ministry of Agriculture, told AZERTAC about this.
According to him, there is a need for land consolidation in practically all districts of the country.
"At the moment, amendments have been made to the relevant legislative acts in order to carry out consolidation, and implementation has begun in this form. The mechanism envisaged in the bill will be determined after the pilot project. All of this will depend on the course of the pilot project and its results," he said.
Let us recall that, within the framework of the implementation of the measure on creating and pilot-applying the land consolidation mechanism in the "State Program on the Development of the Spheres of Production and Processing of Agricultural, Fishery and Aquaculture Products in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026-2030," approved by the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 25, 2026, the implementation of two pilot projects on land consolidation in the Gabala and Salyan districts is envisaged jointly with the World Bank. As a result of the initial analyses, it was established that the selected territories are favorable for carrying out the land consolidation projects, which will be implemented in Azerbaijan for the first time, and an initial road map has been prepared on the basis of Turkish experience.
