"We'll know within 48 hours." Trump comments on the results of U.S.-Iran talks

The outcome of the talks between the United States and Iran may become known within the next 48 hours.

This was stated by U.S. President Donald Trump in response to reporters' requests to comment on reports that the Strait of Hormuz could be opened as early as August 5 if an agreement is reached between Washington and Tehran.

"We are making very good progress [in the negotiation process with Iran]. We will find out [about the results] within 48 hours. This [the opening of the Strait of Hormuz] could happen tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. Significant progress has been made," Trump said while speaking with reporters before departing from Los Angeles, California.
