More than 250 people killed in earthquake in Colombia

The earthquake in Colombia has claimed the lives of at least 254 people, Spanish-language media reported on Wednesday.

A day earlier, 169 victims had been reported.

Most of those killed are residents of the cities of Pereira and Cali. Search and rescue operations are continuing.

Some countries and organizations had earlier announced the allocation of financial aid to Bogota.
