Turkey's Central Bank raises inflation forecast for the end of the year
The inflation forecast in Turkey for the end of 2026 has been raised to 28%.
This was announced by the head of the republic's Central Bank, Fatih Karahan, Turkish media report.
Earlier, Turkish authorities said they expected inflation at the end of 2026 to be in the range of 24-29%. "We have raised our inflation forecast for the end of 2026 to 28%, by the end of 2027 we expect it at 15%, and a year later - 9%," Karahan said, presenting the regulator's report.
Inflation in Turkey in July amounted to 31.75% year-on-year, the national statistics institute T K reported earlier. Market participants surveyed by the Central Bank of Turkey in July noted that they forecast inflation in the country at 29.21% by the end of the year.
