An international badminton tournament has started in Baku
The international youth tournament Azerbaijan Junior Open 2026 for athletes under the age of 19 has started in Baku.
As reported by the Badminton Federation, 64 athletes from 9 countries, including Azerbaijan, are taking part in the competition, vying for awards in 5 categories.
Azerbaijan is represented at the tournament by 22 badminton players. The other participants in the competition are representatives of Turkey, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, the USA, India, and Tajikistan.
As part of the tournament, the badminton players will test their strength in singles and doubles among boys and girls, as well as in mixed doubles.
The Azerbaijan Junior Open 2026 is the first competition in our country organized in the Junior International Series category.
The tournament will conclude on August 16 with the final matches.
