Ukraine strikes the Novokuibyshevsk refinery in Russia's Samara region

On the night of August 22, Ukrainian forces struck the facilities of the "Novokuibyshevsky" oil refinery in the Samara region of the Russian Federation.

As 1news.az reports, this was announced by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on its Telegram channel.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a fire broke out on the territory of the enterprise after the strike, and the extent of the damage is being determined.

The "Novokuibyshevsky" refinery is part of PJSC "NK "Rosneft" and is one of Russia's largest oil refining enterprises. Its capacity is about 8.8 million tons of oil per year.

The enterprise produces more than 20 types of products, including automotive and aviation fuel, diesel fuel, and components for lubricants.
