Azerbaijani wrestlers won two medals on the final day of the world championship
Azerbaijani wrestlers won two medals on the final day of the U20 World Wrestling Championships in the Slovak capital, Bratislava.
As 1news.az reports with reference to the Wrestling Federation of Azerbaijan, on the closing day the medalists were determined in the 70, 74, 97, and 125 kg weight categories.
Haji Karimov (70 kg) faced Iran's Sina Mehdi Khalili in the final. Having lost to his opponent with a score of 7:3, H. Karimov became the owner of the silver medal.
Yusif Dursunov (125 kg) took on Georgia's Aleksandre Abramishvili in the bout for the bronze medal. Seizing the initiative from the start of the match, Yusif maintained his advantage and, winning with a score of 6:0, became a bronze medalist of the world championship.
Thus, Azerbaijani wrestlers won 9 medals (1 gold, 4 silver, 4 bronze) at the youth world championship.
