Iran does not intend to accept the conditions for ending the conflict put forward by the U.S.
Iran will not agree to the conditions that the U.S. is putting forward under the pretext of ending the conflict in the Middle East.
This was stated by the official representative of the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic, Esmail Baghaei.
"Iran will not accept the conditions for ending the war put forward by the aggressor (meaning the U.S. — TASS note). <...> The authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran at all levels are, without any doubt, firm in defending the state and will not yield to the aggressor's demands," the Tasnim agency quoted him as saying.
According to the diplomat, it is precisely the country that started the armed conflict that must "bear responsibility for its actions."
The U.S. and Israel began the war with Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding providing for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon. However, on the night of July 8, the U.S. resumed large-scale strikes on Iran, accusing it of violating the terms of the agreements reached with regard to the Strait of Hormuz. Approximately 25% of the world's oil trade volumes and about 20% of liquefied natural gas are transported through it.
