Peskov tells WP the reason for the CIA chief's trip to Russia

Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told The Washington Post (WP) that the trip of U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director John Ratcliffe to Moscow on Tuesday was connected with contacts between the intelligence services of the two countries.

According to Peskov, as quoted by the newspaper, it concerns "contacts between intelligence services." As WP notes, the Russian presidential press secretary did not provide any other details about Ratcliffe's trip.

On Tuesday, the Axios portal and the CBS television channel reported that Ratcliffe had arrived in Russia to hold meetings. The CIA has not yet responded to TASS's request to confirm this information.
