The Board of Peace criticized Israel and Hamas: "Both sides are violating the agreement"

Representatives of the Board of Peace, created by the U.S. president, stated on Tuesday, August 25, that both Israel and Hamas continue to violate Trump's agreement on Gaza.

They criticized both the launching of kites from Gaza toward Israeli territory and the latest IDF operations in the Gaza Strip, Ynet reports.

The statement came against the backdrop of increasingly frequent launches of kites from the Gaza Strip into Israel's border areas.

"Every case of violation is immediately addressed with the party that violated the agreement. We have created a mechanism led by the American military that promptly deals with such cases. The party that violated the agreement must understand that continued violations will entail serious consequences. Both sides are still violating the 20-point agreement," the council's representatives said.

According to them, the main task now is to achieve implementation of the agreement, after which it will be possible to proceed with the disarmament of Hamas.

"We are trying to steer the parties onto the path of implementing the agreements. The sooner implementation of the 20-point agreement begins, the sooner we will be able to proceed with stripping Hamas of heavy and light weapons. Otherwise, if Hamas does not disarm, Israel will be able to act with great force and with international political support. It is a pity that Israel is missing this enormous opportunity for the sake of a small number of tactical operations that will not actually lead to the disarmament of Hamas," the Board of Peace stated.

The council's representatives also sharply criticized the IDF's operations in Gaza in recent weeks. "The IDF's actions in recent weeks are generating a lot of noise in the media, but these are tactical operations that have no significance for security and cause considerable strategic damage. These operations only perpetuate Hamas's rule in both the civilian and military spheres and do not lead to the real destruction of Hamas. For every militant eliminated, Hamas recruits a hundred new young men," they said.
