Trump announces transfer of Venezuela's oil reserves under U.S. control

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced the conclusion of an agreement with Venezuela providing for the transfer of more than 65 billion barrels of the country's proven oil reserves under U.S. control.

As 1news.az reports, Trump wrote about this on the social network Truth Social.

According to the American leader, the agreement became "the largest oil deal in world history." He noted that, on his instructions, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, together with Delcy Rodríguez, authorized by the president of Venezuela, and representatives of private business, ensured the transfer of the oil reserves under U.S. control.

Trump emphasized that American taxpayers will not have to bear any costs in connection with the conclusion of the deal.

According to him, thanks to the agreement, the United States will more than double its own oil reserves, which will make it possible to significantly reduce the price of gasoline in the country.
