IAEA working to establish new cease-fire zone around ZNPP
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is working to establish a new local cease-fire zone in the area of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
As the organization's press service reports, citing Director General Rafael Grossi, this measure is necessary because of the threat of the plant losing its external power supply. The local truce should allow specialists to carry out critically important repair work.
If agreements are reached, the new zone will become the seventh cease-fire zone created through IAEA mediation since the end of 2025.
