Police prevented a possible kidnapping of Kylian Mbappé in France

French law enforcement authorities have uncovered a criminal group that was planning the kidnapping of well-known figures; among the potential victims was Real Madrid and France national team forward Kylian Mbappé. This was reported by Le Parisien.

According to the publication, the investigation began after an attack on a watchmaker in Neuilly-sur-Seine. During the inquiry, police identified an 18-year-old man who was presumably linked to an organized criminal group.

On the phone seized from him, law enforcement officers found information about 26 potential targets, among them soccer players, singers, and wealthy businessmen. Mbappé was designated as an especially wealthy potential victim.

According to investigators, the criminals planned to attack the soccer player during his stay in Paris. The 18-year-old suspect has been charged and taken into custody.

Mbappé has played for Real Madrid since the summer of 2024.
