Hugh Jackman intends to buy a stake in an English soccer club
Hollywood actor Hugh Jackman has confirmed that he is in talks to acquire a stake in the English soccer club Norwich City.
As 1news.az reports, citing Western media, the 57-year-old actor said this in an interview with the British radio station talkSPORT. According to Jackman, he is "very interested" in investing in the club and is discussing the matter right now.
Norwich City plays in the Championship, the second most important division of English soccer. Jackman is a longtime fan of the team. His mother comes from Norwich, thanks to which the actor has felt a special attachment to the club since childhood.
"I have been to Carrow Road stadium several times and I love the Canaries," Jackman noted, speaking about his attitude toward the team. He also stated that he is counting on Norwich reaching the Premier League this season.
Let us note that the traditional colors of Norwich City are yellow-and-green shirts and green shorts, which is where their nickname — the Canaries — comes from.
