Media: The West offers Yerevan visa-free travel with the EU in exchange for a visa regime with Russia
Western partners have set a condition for the Armenian authorities to introduce a visa regime with the Russian Federation.
In exchange, Yerevan is promised liberalization of the visa regime with the European Union, the newspaper Hraparak reports.
According to the publication, another Western demand is the appointment of former Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan to one of the key state positions.
The article notes that the recent statement by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova that a hypothetical visa regime would harm Armenia first and foremost, rather than Moscow, was no coincidence.
Meanwhile, at a briefing the day before, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan assured that Yerevan has never had and does not have any intention of introducing a visa regime with the Russian Federation.
