Putin: Trump is not abandoning efforts to contribute to a settlement of the conflict

Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with American negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, said that Donald Trump is continuing his efforts to contribute to a settlement of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Putin emphasized that Moscow trusts the American delegation in this process, calling contacts of this kind useful in any case.

The Russian leader also reported that the parties had agreed on a three-day cease-fire. Putin added that strikes on Kyiv had been halted as of midnight, and noted a decrease in activity on the Ukrainian side, including strikes on Moscow.

Witkoff and Kushner are expected to travel to Kyiv to continue negotiations after the meeting in Moscow.
