Iran uncovers militant cells preparing sabotage attacks

In Iran, officers of the Ministry of Intelligence have eliminated three operational cells of terrorist groups and detained nine militants who were attempting to enter the country.

As Tasnim reports, citing Iranian intelligence services, three terrorists were killed during a firefight with security forces. Another nine militants, who had undergone military and sabotage training abroad, were detained.

According to the ministry, those detained had planned to destabilize the situation and carry out acts of sabotage in southern Iran. Weapons and ammunition were seized from them.

In addition, the intelligence services discovered a cache of light weapons and small arms that had been illegally brought into the country.
