Oscar nominee may become host of Eurovision 2027

Bulgarian actress Maria Bakalova, an Oscar nominee, may become one of the hosts of Eurovision 2027, which will take place in her hometown of Burgas.

According to the Bulgarian outlet Bulgaria Dnes, Bakalova has allegedly already been chosen as a host of the contest, and the final details of her participation are currently being agreed upon. At the same time, Bulgarian National Television (BNT) and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) have not yet officially confirmed this information.

Interest in Bakalova's candidacy arose even before the latest reports appeared. In June, the specialized outlet Eurovision Today wrote that the actress was open to the possibility of hosting the contest in Burgas.

Earlier, the actress also publicly reacted positively to fans' suggestions that she become a host of Eurovision 2027.

Maria Bakalova gained worldwide fame after her role as Tutar in the film "Borat 2," for which she was nominated for an Oscar in the category of Best Supporting Actress. Subsequently, the actress continued her career in international film projects.

Recall that Burgas was officially chosen as the host city of Eurovision 2027 in August.

The final of the contest will take place on May 15, 2027, at Arena Burgas, and the semifinals are scheduled for May 11 and 13.
