Cuba's president says the republic will never become a colony of any empire

Cuba knows firmly that it will never again become a colony of any empire.

This was stated by the president of the Caribbean republic, Miguel Diaz-Canel.

"Cuba, which knows well what it means to be a colony and a neocolony of two empires, is certain that it will never again become one for either of them," he wrote on X. "The blood shed for independence, sovereignty and the right to self-determination was not shed in vain, and we will defend ourselves to the end," Diaz-Canel added.

U.S. President Donald Trump published a map on Truth Social on September 7, in which Canada, Mexico and several countries of Central America and the Caribbean, including Cuba, as well as Greenland, are colored in the colors of the American flag. Trump did not accompany the image with any comments.
