Trump calls CNN journalist a "very stupid and unhappy" woman

U.S. President Donald Trump, on the social network Truth Social, called CNN's lead correspondent Kaitlan Collins a "very stupid and unhappy fake journalist."

"A very stupid and unhappy fake journalist, CNN 'reporter' Kaitlan Collins (she also has very low ratings!) took part in a discussion where everything was made up and false," Trump stated.

The reason for the attacks was a discussion in which a reporter for The New York Times said that Trump's recent rally in South Carolina was "half empty" and "very sluggish."

The American leader added that one might have thought that CNN, "which is suffering terribly in the ratings, would get rid of its second-rate 'anchors' and try to restore trust in its once-famous network," since "it is rapidly losing popularity."

This is not the first time Trump has criticized Collins. In 2026, he called her the "worst reporter" and accused her of lying, explaining it by saying that she "doesn't smile."
